A new boss, story and more
Hi everyone, before I continue, you should try out the game to have a resemblance of an idea of what am I talking about. You can play it here.
I haven't posted here for a long time, and I can't really give a good reason why. But it does mean I have way more to share with you.
In the last update, I stated that I am not sore how to get rid of the difficulty spike in the first level of the game, after days of consideration I decided to grit my teeth and just work on a new boss.
I did whatever I can to make the boss as easy and simple as possible by:
1 - making him have low health
2 - putting him before the player learns about dashing
3 - giving him easy attack patterns
I thought because the player is beginning his journey, it would be wise to make attacks be about things different than skill, like memory as presented in this Simon themed attack:
but it did turn out to confuse a lot of players that thought the sequence was random and not related to what was earlier shown on the screen. In order to make it clearer, I had to put sound effects and text to link between the telegraph and the attack.
Speaking of sound effects, I also added some in for telegraphs of different bosses, as well as a proper dash sound. Of course It is far from being done and I would probably need a big sound library to finish them all. If you have any suggestions for a sound library please write them down in the comments.
I added a fair bit of story too, not anything huge because I don't think it's that type of game, but at least a reason why to shoot these angry weird shapes. I personally had a lot of fun making them and I wish you would also find it entertaining.
Of course there are many more different things I can talk about like new missions, bug fixes, and balancing but I think this update is already long enough.
